PRESS RELEASE

In Support of International Women’s Day

Toronto, March 2005. The website ForHerSuccess, which has become the central hub for women looking for a career in Toronto, recently celebrated its first anniversary. Founded by Samira Belmekki, ForHerSuccess has been a labour of love in support of women in the Greater Toronto Area. “It’s been an exciting endeavour,” says Samira, “We encourage employers to list employment opportunities and job seekers to post their resume – we can’t help one without the co-operation of the other.”

In recognition of International Women’s Day, Samira is paying tribute to the remarkable achievements made by all women. She has initiated an alliance with Nellie’s -- a non-profit organization, which helps women and their children in crisis to locate safe affordable housing, along with support services to assist them with planning for a brighter future. “It’s all connected,” says Samira, “If we can enable women to advance themselves, we are serving the community as a whole.”

Beginning February 24th until March 31st, 40% of all the proceeds will be donated to Nellie’s. In addition, the first nine organizations that contribute by posting their available positions on ForHerSuccess will have their corporate logo displayed with a direct link to their website. This represents a $100 value. “This is a great opportunity for organizations to demonstrate and showcase their involvement in the community,” says Samira.

ForHerSuccess was launched in November of 2003 as a career management site for professional women in the GTA. Samira wants to support diversity and equality in the workforce by inviting progressive companies to advertise their new employment opportunities to a qualified market. ForHerSuccess also supports the advancement of women through active links to programs, agencies, services and educational institutions.
